Empower Your Tomorrow’s impact
2024 IG Wealth Management Financial Confidence Index
The IG Financial Confidence Index tracks and reports on Canadians' overall financial confidence by examining IG’s four pillars of financial confidence: personal financial outlook, planning and literacy, trust in the economy and current financial situation.
The 2024 edition found that Canadians’ overall financial confidence stabilized, remaining at 50 from 2023 and falling one point since 2022 (51). Despite this steadiness, Canadians’ overall trust in the economy remains fragile and strong regional differences have emerged, with the West feeling significantly more financially confident than the Eastern provinces.
Among IG’s four priority community groups, Indigenous Canadians’ confidence dropped two points this year, while seniors increased two points and newcomers to Canada increased three points, confirming why we continue to focus on helping to build financial confidence among these groups.
