The 2022 IG Wealth Management Walk for Alzheimer’s was a great success, thanks to the efforts of those who came together to walk and raise funds and awareness for the countless families, caregivers and neighbours impacted by Alzheimer’s disease and dementia.
We want to thank everyone who took part. It was inspiring to hear stories from our IG teams and communities from coast-to-coast who rallied together to raise funds for those in need.
We're so pleased that this event has become an annual tradition for so many communities. Every dollar we raise together through the IG Wealth Management Walk for Alzheimer’s goes towards Alzheimer’s programs and support for caregivers and family members through the Alzheimer Society.
We’re proud that a record-breaking 1,950 IG employees, Consultants, families, friends and clients walked with our IG teams from coast-to-coast. Together, IG teams raised nearly $500,000 (and counting) to support the Alzheimer Society. It was wonderful to walk with our communities again this year. Stay tuned this fall for the national walk fundraising totals.
The costs associated with living with dementia are more than five times higher than Canadians living without the disease. The Alzheimer Society is one of the many partners we work with as part of our IG Empower Your Tomorrow program, which is committed to building the financial confidence of Canadians in communities from coast-to-coast.
It’s our mission to support Canadian communities with the financial advice and tools to help them confidently plan for their journey ahead. That’s why we work in partnership with the Alzheimer Society each year to provide online (watch a recording here) and in-person financial seminars to those living with dementia and their families
Whether you donated or walked, we want to thank you for participating in this years’ IG Wealth Management Walk for Alzheimer’s. Your involvement supports families in your community. Every year we look to build on the great momentum we are creating together with this event, and we look forward to you participating in the Walk again next year.
