The IG Wealth Management Walk for Alzheimer’s is Canada’s largest fundraiser for people living with Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia. With hundreds of communities participating from coast-to-coast, we’re both excited and proud to continue as the title sponsor for this incredible event that brings so many people together on the last weekend in May for an important cause.

People living with Alzheimer’s disease and dementia count on the Alzheimer Society for support. In order to provide that critical support for our communities, the Alzheimer Society depends on the generosity of Canadians.

Every step you take for the IG Wealth Management Walk for Alzheimer’s helps every family member, friend or neighbour impacted by dementia through initiatives provide by the Alzheimer’s Society.

These include:

  • Hiring more frontline professionals
  • Offer more one-on-one counseling
  • Funding programs like First Link® – a service that connects those newly diagnosed with dementia with the right support and information
  • Research into ways to prevent, treat and cure dementia

The IG Walk for Alzheimer’s started as a way to bring people together and show support for both those living with the disease and those caring for them. The walk was meant to be a physical reminder that no-one is alone when facing this very challenging and isolating disease.

Sign up today, then join the walk in your community the last weekend of May. You can also raise funds by sharing your dementia story throughout the month of May on social media.

  • Register online at walkforalzheimers.ca
  • Find your local walk details
  • Raise funds by sharing who you’re walking for using #IGWalkForALZ
  • Walk with your community the last weekend of May

While the walk is the largest fundraiser of its kind, IG Wealth Management’s partnership with the Alzheimer Society doesn’t stop there. Dementia can have a significant financial impact on families, which is why IG offers free financial empowerment workshops tailored to the unique concerns of people living with the disease and their family members.

Our partnership with the Alzheimer Society is just one of the many initiatives in our community program, IG Empower Your Tomorrow, committed to building the financial confidence of all Canadians.
