Social Media Policy

At IG Wealth Management, we appreciate and value interacting with individuals from across Canada. IG Wealth Management social media pages, accounts, website and/or channels (collectively “our Channels”) are designed with you in mind. We encourage you to browse, leave comments, watch and share our videos, and otherwise engage with us. We aim to enable Canadians to get the most out of their money, so they can get the most out of life. However, we also think it’s important to establish some ground rules to keep our Channels inclusive and respectful of everyone. By using our Channels, you agree to follow our House Rules as outlined below.

Guidelines:

We are appreciative of your comments, posts, feedback, photos and videos. Our aim on our Channels is to provide education and assistance with our products and servicing. We encourage you to discuss and share topics and items relevant to you. It is important to note that we are not required to update or correct any information appearing on our Channels, whether it was posted by us or someone else. The information posted on our Page is subject to change without prior notice. Content on our Channels is for information purposes only and is not intended to be:

  • A complete statement on the subject matter being discussed;
  • Any type of professional or expert advice;
  • An offer to sell or purchase a product or service, or a recommendation to sell or purchase securities.

We actively monitor our Channels. Our team is ready to assist between Monday to Friday between 9:00am EST-5:00pm EST.

Inappropriate Content:

We ask you to be appropriate in your comments when posting content on our Channels. When accessing our Page, you agree not to post or submit any information, comment, link or material of any kind which:

  • May be prejudicial, defamatory, abusive, obscene, inflammatory, or may contain personal attacks, threats or may constitute harassment;
  • May be discriminatory, racist, sexist, or may violate the legal rights (including the privacy rights and intellectual property rights) of others;
  • May be false, illegal or misleading;
  • May contain unsolicited advertising, promotional materials or other forms of solicitation;
  • Seeks to obtain or reveals personal or confidential information that may be used to determine a person’s identity;
  • Falsifies the origin of any information.
  • Constitutes repetitive or continuous posts, including complaints, that have already been or are being responded to by us.

We reserve the right, in our sole discretion, to remove any content and / or block individuals that do not adhere to our House Rules (including any inappropriate content).

When using our Channels to communicate with IG Wealth Management, some of your personal data may be captured. If you are not comfortable with this then you should refrain from using our Channels.

Opinions:

Opinions posted on our Page do not necessarily represent or reflect our opinion or that of anyone associated with Investors Group, nor do we confirm that such opinions are accurate or up-to-date.

Personal Information:

Posting on our public Channels indicates that the general public will have access to any information that you make public. Please do not share any private, financial (including account information) or personal information about yourself that you would not like to share with the general public.

Be mindful of and respect the privacy of other individuals by not publicly identifying or referencing information about them that has not been voluntarily made available by them in a public post.

Intellectual Property:

Unless indicated otherwise, all intellectual property rights to our Channels and content are owned by us. As this is a public forum and participation is voluntary, if you post or upload content on our Channels, you allow us to repost, use, copy or commercially use such content free of charge in all cases.

User Name and Password:

Your privacy is important so please keep in mind that you are responsible for ensuring the confidentiality of your user name and password, and for any actions taken when visiting our Channels under your user name.

Third Party Content:

Our Channels are owned by unaffiliated third parties. We are not responsible or liable for the third parties which own or operate our Channels. This includes liability for any losses or direct and indirect damages arising from any action or decision made by you or anyone else based on the content of our Channels.

Where there are links to third party websites or resources, whether posted by us or by a third party, you access these at your sole discretion and at your own risk. We are not responsible for the content or services offered on such third party websites or resources.

Please note that external websites and/or social media platforms are governed by their own terms of use and privacy policies and you should read those carefully.

Following a user, or being followed by a user, does not mean we endorse this user.

If you have specific questions or concerns relating to your account at Investors Group, you should contact your Consultant directly. You may also contact your Consultant’s Regional Director or your Consultant’s Divisional Director. Your Consultant, the Division Director or Regional Director can all be reached at the office and phone number shown on your quarterly account statement. Concerns relating to your account can also be directed to the Investors Group Compliance Department at complianceinvestigations@investorsgroup.com. You are advised to direct all questions or concerns relating to your account via email or telephone and not via our public Channels, as we will likely need to collect personal or sensitive information from you in order to respond to your concerns appropriately.
